I have been developing websites for many years. First with HTML, then CSS and along the way PHP and Bootstrap and of course WordPress. For the businessman who has the website built for his company, the only thing that matters is the end result.
Analysis: Establishing the parameters of your website
You need to determine your website’s purpose. Who is your intended target audience and what do your competitors offer on their websites? What is your budget for the website’s initial development and ongoing maintenance?
Project planning: Getting organized
Reserve a colour scheme and obtain a logo (if required) for site branding. Set out the required pages (header, main, footer) on paper. Collect all images and text for each page.
Design: Connecting a framework
Put together the look of the website and how it is envisioned.
Development: Building your site
Development of homepage (basically the template for the rest of the site), review, adjust. Add it’s menu, content and images. Clone for the rest of the website for conformity.
Testing and Delivery: Interactivity and e-business
Provide value to your visitors if you need other means to make your website functional. Test everything.
Developing a mobile-friendly website: Keep it simple.
Mobile first is the keyword as cellphone usage is rising to surpass laptop/desktop for browsing. Your website will be ready day or night anywhere in the world to connect to your next customer!
